A lot of businesses are cashing in on the popularity of myspace, and it definitely can be lucrative. Whether you're trying to promote a product, a service, a website, or just yourself there's a way to go about it on My Space, but the key is knowing how.

The first step is simple: make friends.
It might sound easy, I'm not talking preschool playground friend making. In fact, you'll need lots and lots of friends to get anywhere on myspace!

Gearing Up Your Page
Even if you have a couple thousand friends, it doesn't do much good if your product isn't properly displayed on your page. First off you want a catchy and unique myspace layout. The key is to make it look totally different from any other profile, while still keeping it identifiable as a myspace page. You can use a Myspace Page Editor, like this one: http://www.strikefile.com/myspace. All you have to do is select your colors, fonts, and pictures, add the code to your page and it will come out exactly as you want it, or you can hire me to do it for you.
-In one hour, I will set you up with a unique and exciting layout

It's important to promintently display your product and links back to your site without overdoing it. You can add atleast one large picture to the page, with a few thumbnails underneathor you can hire me to do it for you.
-In one hour, I will upload your pictures and create a dynamic gallery and slide show. This will automatically thumbnail pictures and cruise from one to the next every few seconds, completely on its own.

It's a great thing that MySpace allows html tags, and that should be taken full advantage of. If you have an RSS news feed on your regular site, I would highly suggest integrating the feed into your myspace page. or you can hire me to do it for you.
-In one hour, I will set up an integrated RSS news feed, adding links to your feed subscriptions as well as any forms to sign up for mailing lists etc.

Promoting Your Myspace
Now that your friends are in place and your page is ready to be shown to the world. There are a few tricks of the trade that should be done every so often to keep people visting your myspace page and your regular website. First, make sure to post a comment on all your new friends pages, or you can hire me to do it for you.
-In one hour, I will submit your custom comment to all your friends I will use an image of your choice (or mine) and including a link to your website beneath it. Make sure to add a comment and thank the person for the add, to make each post seem unique. I will also include an "add me link" to get even more friend requests from the visitors to that persons page. To do this, simply right click the words "add friends" on your page and choose Copy URL.
